%X Els textos que coneixem publicats amb la firma de Lloren  Villalonga han passat per unes vicissituds tan v¨¤ries que arriben a fer dubtar de quina fou la intervenci¨® que ell hi tingu¨¦. El cas m¨¦s flagrant ¨¦s el de Bearn, que encara circula en dues versions no coincidents. Canvis de t¨ªtol, addicions, amplificacions, supressions, algunes de poc coherents amb la seva sensibilitat i el seu estil. En gran part devien esser degudes a pressions editorials. Mort de dama reb¨¦ amb els anys un augment de set cap¨ªtols. El contingut, en alguns punts, fou atenuat en el sentit de suavitzar la descripci¨® i fer m¨¦s digna l¡¯actuaci¨® d¡¯alguns personatges. Sorprenen les declaracions del pr¨°leg de la primera edici¨® de Bearn, signat per l¡¯autor, que volen justificar la supressi¨® de l¡¯Ep¨ªleg, quan, despr¨¦s de qualificar-lo de superflu, l¡¯autor exig¨ª que se restabl¨ªs a les Obres completes. La novel¡¤la finalment titulada L¡¯hereva de Dona Obd¨²lia o Les Temptacions ¨¦s el resultat d¡¯empeltar a una d¡¯anterior nou cap¨ªtols, que contenen una hist¨°ria mala de fer lligar amb els primitius. A La novel¡¤la de Palmira i L¡¯¨¤ngel rebel, a m¨¦s del canvi en els t¨ªtols, s¡¯hi afegiren uns cap¨ªtols, poc congruents amb la resta, amb la finalitat de fer-hi sortir personatges d¡¯obres anteriors, especialment la marquesa de Pax. La que finalment fou titulada Un estiu a Mallorca fou engreixada amb la inserci¨® de textos extensos d¡¯altres autors, especialment de George Sand. Tot plegat crea unes dificultats dif¨ªcilment superables a l¡¯hora de reconstruir els textos genu ns de Villalonga. The texts that we know to be published with the signature of Lloren  Villalonga have experienced such varied vicissitudes that it leads us to doubt what his role in them was. The most glaring case is Bearn, which still circulates in two different versions. They show changes in title, additions, expansions, eliminations, some of which are rather incoherent with his sensibility and his style. They must have large been due to editorial pressures. Over the years, Mort de dama gained seven chapters. The content at some points was attenuated by softening the description and making the actions of some of the characters more decent. The declarations in the prologue of the first edition of Bearn, signed by the author, are surprising, as they aim to justify the elimination of the Epilogue, when after describing it as superfluous, the author requires that it be restored in his Complete Works.
