Ventriculitis is often thought of as a secondary complication of acute group B streptococcal meningitis. Conclusion: Multifocal group B streptococcal infection is rare and group B streptococcal ventriculitis should be suspected in cases that are refractory to treatment or in patients who later develop hydrocephalus.
