%X The first part of the work deals with the internal evaluation of activities of a school with a modified system of quality management TQM. We put emphasis on the internal assessment and we present methods and techniques for evaluating the school functions (education process); in more detail we discuss one of the evaluation methods - the SWOT analysis. We describe its realisation, definition, use of its outcomes, strategies and benefits of implementing the modified TQM philosophy in high schools. In the second part of the work we present the results of a SWOT analysis conducted at a high school for construction and engineering. The analysis relates to the school as a whole, mainly to the improvement of its processes (other than the education process which will be the topic of further works). Consequently we propose recommendations resulting from the SWOT analysis and from a survey conducted upon the results of the SWOT analysis.V prvej  asti pr¨ªspevku sa zaober¨¢me vn¨²tornym hodnoten¨ªm  innosti  koly so zaveden¨ªm modifikovan¨¦ho syst¨¦mu mana ¨¦rstva kvality TQM. Uv¨¢dzame jej prevedenie, vysvetlenie, vyu itie vysledkov, strat¨¦gie a pr¨ªnosy v syst¨¦me zavedenia a uplatnenia modifikovanej filozofie TQM na strednej  kole. V druhej  asti pr¨ªspevku prezentujeme vysledky zo SWOT analyzy uskuto nenej na Strednej priemyselnej  kole stavebnej. Analyza sa tyka  koly ako celku, jedn¨¢ sa predov etkym o zlep enie procesov  koly okrem vyu ovacieho (n¨¢pl¨¾ dal ¨ªch pr¨ªspevkov), n¨¢sledne uv¨¢dzame odpor¨² ania plyn¨²ce zo SWOT analyzy a z dotazovania zostaven¨¦ho na z¨¢klade vysledkov SWOT analyzy.
