It emphasis an importance of social function of education as a way to social help, self help people leading, and adults leading for evelovment of their individual social and psychological potention. The educational social function enables to connect not only theoretical, but practical adult education with counselling and guiding in a case of solving social problems of individuals and communities. We are focusing the attention to the social function of adult education as a constitutional aspect of the social - andragogy (social -educative) counselling and guiding in this paper. The basic sense of this counselling is guiding adults to find the ability of living to grow the potential of the mental full grown person - psychical adult people, with its personnel integrity, autonomy, creativity and stabil values orientation.V pr¨Şspevku sa syst¨¦m, aktivity a proces vychovy a vzdel¨˘vania dospelych prezentuje v ¨˛lohe prostriedku poradenskej pomoci. Zd raz¨ľuje sa potreba poradenskej pomoci dospelym osob¨˘m v s¨˛vislosti s rozvojom ich individu¨˘lneho potenci¨˘lu a kultivovan¨Şm ich vn¨Şmavosti a schopnosti identifikova a zvl¨˘da soci¨˘lne probl¨¦my v ich it¨Ş. Poukazuje sa na potrebu zmeny v nazeran¨Ş na vychovn¨¦ a vzdel¨˘vacie aktivity pre dospelych. Postoj k vzdel¨˘vaniu, ako k poradenskej pomoci dospel¨¦mu loveku pri zvl¨˘dan¨Ş ivotnych ¨˛loh a rozvoji jeho celostnej sp sobilosti k itiu, sa prezentuje ako protiv¨˘ha k postoju, v ktorom sa syst¨¦m vzdel¨˘vania ch¨˘pe prioritne v s¨˛vislosti s uplatnen¨Şm doktr¨Şny s¨˛ a e, po adovanych vysledkov a vykonnosti ud¨Ş tak vo vzdel¨˘vacom procese ako aj v ich pracovnych innostiach. Hlavnym cie om pr¨Şspevku je vymedzenie ir ieho kontextu, s¨˛vislost¨Ş a ¨˛loh soci¨˘lno-andragogick¨¦ho poradenstva (resp. soci-¨˘lno-eduka n¨¦ho poradenstva pre dospelych).
