%X It is the primary objective of architects and interior architects to design suitable living environments for human beings. This study examines the reflections on interior surfaces, in terms of benefits from appropriate utilization of natural light on interiors. In part one, the topic of light permeability is introduced with respect to definition of transparency, related supporting definitions and its physical, psychological effects. In part two, the concept of transparency in architectural constructions is examined based on historical development. Finally, it is evident that the psychological factors must be also taken into consideration and necessary to control the transparency proportions in buildings, in parallel, the level of illumination.  nsanlar n ya am al  kanl klar na uygun ya am  evreleri d¨¹zenleme, mimar ve i mimarlar  n g revidir. Bu  al  mada, mimari yap larda saydaml k ve mekanlarda hacim y¨¹zeylerinde meydana gelen    k yans malar ndan yararlan lmas  incelenmektedir. B l¨¹m 1¡¯de, saydaml k kavram n n tan m  ve tan mlaman n i inde var olan yan kavramlar n fiziksel ve psikolojik etkileri incelenerek,    k iletkenli ine giri  yap lmaktad r. B l¨¹m 2¡¯de mimari yap larda saydaml k kavram  ele al n p, tarihsel s¨¹re  i indeki  rnekler incelenerek, saydaml   n mimarideki geli iminin teknolojiyle olan ba lant s  anlat lmaktad r. Cephelerdeki saydaml   n, i  mekan fonksiyonlar na g re etkisi ve do al      n y¨¹zeylere yans mas  ele al nmaktad r. Sonu  olarak; duygusal fakt rler dikkate al narak, yap lardaki saydaml k oranlar n n ve buna ba l  olu an ayd nl k d¨¹zeylerinin uygun bi imde denetim alt na al nmas  gereklili i ortaya   kmaktad r.
