Geleneksel mimar  bir yap t son d nem teknolojik yap lardan sanatsal anlamda daha az m  de erlidir? Mimarl   n bilgibilimsel (epistemolojik) niteli i onun de i en anlay  larla yeniden ve yeniden yorumlanabilmesini ve farkl  d¨¹zeyde anlay  larla kavranmas na yard m eder. Yaln z, mimarl ktaki bu s¨¹rekli de i imi bilimsel nitelikteki geli melerle ayn la t ranlay z, Gablik gibi baz  sanat ele tirmenlerinin pragmatik yakla  mlar n n (mant ksal alg lama ile sanatsal de er aras nda do ru orant l  bir ili ki oldu unu d¨¹ ¨¹nmek) aksine Vico bir eserdeki sanatsal de erin sanat  n n  ncelikle " iirsel bilge" liginin ¨¹r¨¹n¨¹ oldu unu ve bu alandaki de i imlerin "sanat a ac " metaforunda belirtti i gibi bir "geli im" olarak de il daha  ok bir "d n¨¹ ¨¹m" (transformasyon) olarak alg lanmas  gereklili ini savunur. Has art or architecture been moving forward like pure and applied sciences? Does the growth of knowledge and the change in the mental cognitive processing of man directly increase the "quality" and "value" of art works? The accumulation of knowledge in different fields, technological developments and their reflections in architectural production are usually consid-ered signs of development or "progress". However, the "art value " in art and architectural works can not be evaluated with technical and theoretical knowledge alone. After a brief critical analysis of the idea of "progress" from different perspectives, the paper gives an emphasis to the understanding of the idea of "transformation " which particularly relates to Giambaltista Vico's theory of " poetic wisdom " in art and architecture.
