%X The prevalence of the myocardial infarction (MI) was increasing according to the decadesof the 20th century. In the second decade, the electrocardiogram was introduced, animportant diagnostic tool which still has full validity. The professor of the Facultadde Medicina of the Universidad de Cartagena, Colombia, Henrique de la Vega V¨¦lezpublished in 1942 a thematic review that includes three clinical cases of MI. The textallows observing the conceptualization that was managed seventy years ago and alsoit allows corroborating that the approach continued being eminently clinical for thediagnosis and therapeutic decisions. The article allows asserting that EKG was availablein the city of Cartagena and it can be inferred about the existent appropriation in itsinterpretation. The professor Henrique de la Vega V¨¦lez was one of the most influentialteachings in the half of the 20th century in the Facultad de Medicina of the Universidadde Cartagena, Colombia. El profesor Henrique de la Vega V¨¦lez fue uno de los docentes m¨¢s influyentesen la mitad del siglo XX en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Cartagena.Colombia. El texto permite observar la conceptualizaci¨®n que se manejaba hace setentaa os, corroborar que el enfoque segu¨ªa siendo eminentemente cl¨ªnico tanto para eldiagn¨®stico como para la toma de decisiones terap¨¦uticas.
