%X This paper presents an algorithm, for solving the Optimal Power Flow problem with flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS). The type of FACTS devices is used: thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC). A method to determine the optimal location of thyristor controlled series compensators has been suggested. The proposed approaches have been implemented on an adapted IEEE 26 bus system. The simulation results are discussed to show the performance of the proposed algorithm and our  FACTS programmer  simulator technique, which are compared with TCSC and without TCSC.
