%X Entre septiembre de 2000 y enero de 2001 fueron necropsiados 55 especimenes de congrio rosado, G. brasiliensis procedentes de la costa del estado del R赤o de Janeiro (21-23∼ S, 41-45∼ W), Brasil. Todos los congrios examinados estaban parasitados por C. genypteri, colect芍ndose un total de 1.312 especimenes; con abundancia media de 23,8 ㊣ 26,7. Cucullanus genypteri present車 un t赤pico patr車n de distribuci車n sobredispersa o contagiosa. La abundancia de C. genypteri present車 correlaci車n positiva con el tama o corporal del hospedador. El sexo de los peces no influenci車 en la abundancia del par芍sito. Between September of 2000 and January of 2001, 55 specimens of pink cusk-eel, Genypterus brasiliensis Regan, 1903 were captured from the coastal of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (aprox. 21-23∼ S, 41-45∼ W), and necropsied to study their cucullanid nematode. All fishes were parasitized for Cucullanus genypteri Sardella, Navone & Timi, 1997. A total of 1312 parasites were collected, with average of 23.8/fish. The cucullanid nematode of G. brasiliensis showed a typical pattern of distribution. Cucullanus genypteri showed an increase in abundance in relation to the host size. The sex of host did not influence the abundance of C. genypteri.
