%X In the title compound, C28H24O4, the two 4-methylbenzoyl groups at the 1- and 8-positions of the naphthalene ring system are aligned almost antiparallel, the dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings being 9.64 (7)¡ã. The dihedral angles between the two phenyl rings and the naphthalene ring system are 71.82 (6) and 71.58 (6)¡ã. In the crystal, intermolecular C¡ªH...O interactions between the carbonyl oxygen and aromatic hydrogen are observed.
