%X :This paper relates to an overview and a need to establish security of home area networks (HAN). With the widely growth of broadband technology, home area networks have become more venerable to network attacks as many of the non-computing savvy households pay less attention to secure their networks due to lack of technical knowledge. This paper begins with an overview of home area networks and various security measures to be taken to secure a home area network from being attacked by intruders.
