The research started from a multi case study with five organizations from the craft breweries route in Santa Catarina. These organizations are located in the cities of Blumenau, Indaial, Timbo and Pomerode. Data collection emerged from semistructured interviews, observations and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the method of interpretative analysis. The theoretical framework of situated learning and improvisation is based on an interpretative epistemology and a social constructionist paradigm. From the data collected and literature, it is shown that improvisation in organizations deal with issues that are not premeditated, requiring immediate resolution, and having direct articulation with a prior and subsequent learning. It is considered that this research allows new discussions on the relationship of improvisation and learning in organizations, perceptions of in dividuals about improvisation in organizations, advantages and disadvantages, explanations about the use of improvisation. %K Improvisation %K Learning %K Craft organizations %K Structuring %K Communities of Practice. %U http://www.revista.ufpe.br/gestaoorg/index.php/gestao/article/viewFile/203/259
