%T M¨ªdia e Lesbianidade: Uma An¨¢lise sobre Posicionamentos na Telenovela Senhora do Destino

%X This article explores the possible attitudes regarding lesbianity from a discourse analysis of the telenovela "Senhora do Destino¡± (Rede Globo, 2004-2005). Two cases were used as illustration: the characters Sebasti o (Nelson Xavier) and Giovani (Jos¨¦ Wilker). Having the theoretical-epistemological framing of social constructivism allied with a feminist reading, the inevitability and firmness of the identity category is questioned, opening up paths to search its denaturalization. A double effect is verified in the introduction of lesbianity in the telenovela: if, on one hand, the process of assimilation of the lesbian category provokes a higher ¡°familiarization¡± of the issue in the society, as well as the circulation of codes/models enables the legitimization of affective-sexual relations of people of the same gender, on the other hand, the way in which the processes of legitimization/acceptance occur do not enable an unstabilization of social rules and hegemonic models.
