%X La entrada a la esfera p¨²blica de mujeres se prefigura en la independencia cultural americana basada en la cultura letrada, encarnada en el pr¨®logo de la Gram¨¢tica de Andr¨¦s Bello. El proyecto de modernizaci¨®n cultural propuesto por Bello contiene dos impulsos: la voluntad pedag¨®gica, que se revisar¨¢ a trav¨¦s de un an¨¢lisis de la propuesta de Eugenio Mar¨ªa de Hostos, y el dialogismo ling¨¹¨ªstico, que se configura como un espacio contiguo, polif¨®nico, que busca dignificar al castellano de Am¨¦rica frente al de Espa a. Esta doble articulaci¨®n de la cultura letrada prev¨¦ la incorporaci¨®n de nuevas voces a la norma, lo que describiremos con el caso de Gabriela Mistral y su propuesta pedag¨®gica. Women's entry into the public sphere can be prefigured in Latin American cultural independency strives, which were based on a lettered culture. Theforeword to Andr¨¦s Bello's Gram¨¢tica, the embodiment of this culture, is a cultural modernization project that bears two impulses, one ofpedagogical will and another of linguistic dialogism. The first impulse will be dealt with an analysis of Eugenio Mar¨ªa de Hostos' discourse. The second one is built as a contiguous polyphonic space that seeks to dignify American Spanish in relation to the peninsular variation.This double articulation of the lettered culture allows for the incorporation of new voices into the norm, as is the case of Gabriela Mistral and her pedagogic discourse.
