%X In the title compound, {[Cu(C7H4NO4)(C10H8N2)(H2O)]¡¤H2O}n, the CuI ion is coordinated by the N atom from a 5-carboxypyridine-3-carboxylate anion, two N atoms from two 4,4¡ä-bipyridine (4,4¡ä-bipy) ligands and one water molecule in a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The 4,4¡ä-bipy ligands bridge the CuI ions into polymeric chains propagating in [201]. The latticeand the coordinating water molecules as well as the carboxy OH function are involved in the formation of intermolecular O¡ªH...O hydrogen bonds, which consolidate the crystal packing.
