%X We present a new interactive method for tree-ring width determination. It uses a high resolution scanner and a PC. A program to process scanned tree-ring images was developed in Interactive Data Language (IDL 5.0) environment. The method successfully performs interactive tree-ring image analysis without high-cost complex equipment. A simple test was used to check the precision of ring width measurements from a sliced tree sample, Pinus taeda on Southern Brazil.
