The secrecy and harshness of the repression exercised by General Francisco Franco¡¯s regime led the Catalan Communist Party (PSUC) to employ, for a sustained period of time, a type of heavily masculinised activism, in which physical endurance, ¡°manly¡± courage and the possibility of full-time devotion to political work, limited the female communist activist to the supporting role of ¡°assistant to the militant-man¡±. It was during the last years of Franco¡¯s dictatorship that, while fighting against the Regime, many female militants questioned both these forms of militant inequality and the gender relations within the party. %K donne militanti %K donne comuniste %K Partito Socialista Unificato di Catalogna %K Partito Comunista Spagnolo %K dittatura franchista %K Francisco Franco %K women %K militant forms %K feminism %K Unified Socialist Party of Catalunya %K Spanish Communist Party %K Franco¡¯s regim %U http://ejour-fup.unifi.it/index.php/sdd/article/view/9611
