%X The first Sri Lankan Personal Genome was sequenced heralding the entry of Sri Lanka into the new era of whole genome sequencing. This paper explains the background and the rationale for the project, gives a brief overview of what was found in the Sri Lankan Personal Genome, and discusses the future directions of the project.
