%X El descubrimiento de un dibujo in谷dito de Graus fernandezianus ha servido para iluminar el origen de este nombre espec赤fico y su breve historia taxon車mica, resultando no ser sin車nimo de Graus nigra, sino m芍s bien de Malapterus reticulatus, una especie de la familia Labridae. Se sugiere cambiar su situaci車n de nomen nudum a sin車nimo menor de M. reticulatus. Por otro lado, el hallazgo de un ejemplar de Graus nigra en la costa de Valdivia permite documentar la extensi車n de su rango geogr芍fico hacia el sur en alrededor de 500 km, en el llamado distrito biogeogr芍fico marino Centro-Chileno. Graus nigra es una especie estrictamente litoral (inter y submareal), que ha sido comercialmente explotada y tambi谷n es com迆n en las pescas deportivas, aspecto sobre el cual los autores llaman la atenci車n, con el fin de promover un mejor control sobre sus capturas The finding of an inedit original drawn of Graus fernandezianus, is used to enlight the origin of such specific name and its short taxonomic history, leading to the conclusion that it is not a synonym of Graus nigra, but better represents a specimen of Malapterus reticulatus, a fish of the family Labridae. The situation of nomen nudum is suggested to be changed into junior synonym of M. reticulatus. On the other hand, the capture of one specimen of Graus nigra, in the coast of Valdivia, extends the geographical southern limit of this species about 500 km the south, in the so-called Central-Chile marine biogeographic district. Graus nigra is a strictly littoral species (inter and subtidal), which has been commercially exploited, as well as captured in sport fisheries, aspect on which the authors call attention, in order to promote a better control on the captures
