%X Kristian Adendorff was born on 21 April 1931 in Pietermaritzburg. He obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1953 and MBA and DBA degrees at the University of Pretoria in 1961 and 1969 respectively.
