Bu  al  mada,  ncelikle i  doyumu hakk nda genel ve k¨ıt¨ıphanecilik temelli kuramsal bilgi verilmi tir. Daha sonra yap lan ara t rma sonu lar  de erlendirilmi  ve konu ile ilgili  neriler sunulmu tur. Bu  al  maya konu olan ara t rma Ankara'da bulunan ¨ıniversite ve halk k¨ıt¨ıphanelerinde  al  an k¨ıt¨ıphaneciler ¨ızerinde ger ekle tirilmi tir. Ankara'daki on ¨ıniversite k¨ıt¨ıphanesinden 69, alt  halk k¨ıt¨ıphanesinden 20 olmak ¨ızere toplam 89 k¨ıt¨ıphaneciye May s 2009 tarihinde anket uygulanm  t r. Anket i in Spector'un "   Doyumu  l e i" temel al nm  t r. Ara t rmada elde edilen sonu lara g re, ¨ıniversite ve halk k¨ıt¨ıphanelerinde  al  an k¨ıt¨ıphanecilerin genelde i  doyumlar  aras nda istatistiksel olarak anlaml  bir fark bulunmad   , ancak, baz  unsurlar aras nda anlaml  farkl l klar oldu u saptanm  t r.Job satisfaction, which signifi es an individual's happiness in his/her occupation, is a multidimensional case that aff ects success and productivity at work, in general terms and in the fi eld of librarianship. This article off ers primarily general information on job satisfaction and librarianship-based theoretical information. It also evaluates the conclusions of a questionnaire and off ers related suggestions. The research focused on the librarians employed at university and public libraries in Ankara. A questionnaire was administered in May 2009 to 69 university librarians and 20 others employed by public libraries, bringing the total to 89 professional men and women. The questionnaire has been based on the Spector's "Job Satisfaction Survey". According to the conclusions that may be derived from the research, no meaningful diff erence can be discerned, in statistical terms, within the frame of work satisfaction between those working in the university and public libraries. However, due to certain factors within the scope of job satisfaction, signifi cant dissimilarities have been detected among librarians.
