%X The principles of the surgical treatment for pectus excavatum were established more than 50 years ago, still new treatment techniques and methods are being developed at the present time. Many different materials have been used by orthopedic surgeons for the repair of this thoracic deformity. The present study is a review of both old and new techniques that were designed for a better surgical correction of pectus excavatum.
