%0 Journal Article %T USE OF THE INFORMATION IN MUSEUMS: visits to the San Francisco Cultural Center %A Tahis Virg¨ªnia Gomes da Silva %J Biblionline %D 2011 %I Universidade Federal da Para¨ªba %X Aiming to analyze the use of information by users / visitors of the Cultural Center of San Francisco (CCSF) has developed this research exploratory-descriptive study, qualitative and quantitative (using graphs and tables) in the data analysis, in 2007 as a result of work Completion of course. The population was composed of forty users / visitors to CCSF. Data analysis showed that users / visitors to CCSF were mostly female, are between 26 and 30 years old, with college and graduate school, earning between two and five minimum wages; single; rarely frequented museums, passed between two or three hours in a museum exhibition and had the main reading preference for leisure. For these users / visitors to CCSF what prompted the visit to the museum institution was "curiosity" and "studies" and the use of information acquired in the CCSF get along in social life. We conclude that studies of users and uses of information in museums are relevant. Are then necessary expository practices provide access to the languages democratizing museum.
