%0 Journal Article %T DATABASE OF COURSE COMPLETION PAPERS OF LIBRARIANSHIP AT UFPE: preservation and Accessibility %A Arabelly Lima %J Biblionline %D 2010 %I Universidade Federal da Para¨Şba %X This paper aimed to present the importance ofthe expansion of the democratization ofinformation access and the preservation of thedepartmental memory through thedissemination of knowledge generated bylibrarianship students from the Department ofInformation Science at Federal University ofPernambuco, by digitalization, organizationand dissemination of the undergraduate coursecompletion papers. The objective was to build adatabase of papers to serve as a researchsource, rescuing and preserving the memory ofthe Department. The methodologicalprocedures used were: scanning of documentsusing scanning techniques such as resolution,compression, file size, colors, and recordingmedia; treatment of images through the imageediting software Adobe Photoshop CS2;indexing of papers using the Dublin Coremetadata standard, and data feed using theCLIO, free software developed by theLaboratory of Knowledge Technology (LIBER)for collections management, which has publicand free use. The collection developed isestimated at approximately 420 coursecompletion papers between the years 1990 to2010, and has researches covering severalsubjects in the area of Information Science.
