%X L¡¯engagement dans la lutte contre les probl¨¨mes sociaux s¡¯est transform¨¦. Avec l¡¯individualisation et la territorialisation du traitement public des probl¨¨mes sociaux, se pose de plus en plus nettement la question d¡¯une action publique de proximit¨¦, intersubjective. Mais plut t que de renvoyer imm¨¦diatement les raisons de cette action publique sur mesure ¨¤ une critique de la psychologisation des rapports sociaux ou du d¨¦clin des institutions, il s¡¯agit de l¡¯analyser comme une exp¨¦rience publique, avec son lot d¡¯actions et d¡¯affects, de convictions et d¡¯inqui¨¦tudes, de ressources et de pr¨¦occupations. La notion de souci s¡¯impose alors pour tenir ce double mouvement de l¡¯engagement, entre agir et subir, des ¨¦preuves qui nous conduisent dans l¡¯action aux attentes qui nous y maintiennent. ¨¤ partir de plusieurs exemples de formation de probl¨¨mes sociaux, l¡¯article d¨¦cline alors le souci des acteurs dans deux directions. D¡¯une part, le souci de soi est analys¨¦ comme un engagement public au sens d¡¯un travail d¡¯orientation de soi dans un monde incertain via la reprise d¡¯exp¨¦riences sociales n¨¦gatives. D¡¯autre part, le souci commun est envisag¨¦ comme une   communaut¨¦ de charge  , c¡¯est-¨¤-dire comme un collectif d¡¯action publique fond¨¦ non pas ¨¤ partir de propri¨¦t¨¦s communes mais ¨¤ partir d¡¯affects partag¨¦s. ¡°Concern¡± in the social sphere and public action adapted to the client: singular and critical public experience of social problemsCommitment in the struggle against social problems has changed. Along with the individualisation and territorial decentralisation of the public treatment of social problems, the question of very local and intersubjective public action has come more and more into focus. But rather than immediately relegating the reasons for this tailor-made version of social action to a critique of the increasing influence of psychological methods in social relations, or on the other hand, seeing them simply in terms of the decline in institutions, this article analyses individualised social action as a public experience with its share of action and affective elements, of conviction and doubt, of resourcefulness and worry. And the notion which can contain and articulate this double movement inside commitment, from action to subjection, from difficult experiences which drive us to action to expectations which enable us to carry on, is that of care or concern.
