%X Attraverso lĄŻanalisi dellĄŻopera di Carlo Levi ¨C con lĄŻinclusione di lettere e articoli ¨C il presente saggio approfondisce una lettura critica che individua nel viaggio lĄŻunit¨¤ strutturale dellĄŻopera leviana. La scrittura stessa ¨¨ viaggio, continua transizione, un procedere circolare e orizzontale insieme. Il viaggio ¨¨, allo stesso tempo, occasione di scoperta e mezzo di trasformazione dellĄŻIo. ¨¨ un percorso di conoscenza: per capire come muoversi nel futuro bisogna tornare allĄŻantico. Il viaggio come ricerca delle origini ¨¨ la ragione del viaggio di Levi in India, descritto attraverso dei reportages pubblicati su  La Stampa . Sin dal primo articolo, Levi sottolinea come nella esotica e magica alterit¨¤ di questa terra dĄŻOriente egli ritrovi il volto arcaico del nostro mondo, il volto che gli rassomiglia. By analyzing Carlo LeviĄŻs complete works ¨C including letters and articles¨C, this essay attempts to deepen the critical reading that finds the structural unity of LeviĄŻs opus in the journey. Writing itself is a journey, a continuous transition, a proceeding both circular and horizontal. Travelling is, at the same time, a possible discovery and a possible change of the Self. It is a route towards knowledge: one must return to the earliest times in order to move towards the future. The journey as a quest of the origins was the reason for LeviĄŻs tour around India, described by means of a series of reports published in La Stampa. Since his first report, Levi points out that in the exotic and magic otherness of this oriental land, he finds again the archaic face of our world, a face that resembles his face.
