%X L'auteur   revisite   le parcours qui l'a conduit ¨¤ r¨¦aliser dans les ann¨¦es 1960 une des premi¨¨res ¨¦tudes du mouvement ¨¦vang¨¦lique pentec tiste en Am¨¦rique latine. Il rappelle d'abord les termes par lesquels il avait pr¨¦tendu cadrer sa relation avec son objet de recherche, pour d¨¦crire ensuite l'¨¦trange dialectique sujet/objet qui s'¨¦tait d¨¦velopp¨¦e au fur et ¨¤ mesure de son immersion dans une double alt¨¦rit¨¦, l'Am¨¦rique latine et le mouvement charismatique. Pendant ce voyage au long cours, l'  objet   avait pris vie ; il ¨¦tait devenu un sujet qui imposait au chercheur qui s'¨¦tait cru   sujet   des interrogations nouvelles en m¨ºme temps qu'une mise en question de ses certitudes du d¨¦part. The combat with the angel. Concerning a study on the Pentecostal movement in ChileThe author retraces the path that led him in the 1960s to carry out one of the first studies on the Pentecostal evangelical movement in Latin America. After recalling the terms on which he sought to situate his relationship with the research topic, he goes on to describe the strange subject/object dialectic that developed as he gradually became more and more immersed in a dual otherness, Latin America and the charismatic movement. During this lengthy voyage, the ¡°object¡± of his research took on a life of its own, mutating into a subject that confronted the researcher (who had assumed that he was the ¡°subject¡±) with new questions and a need to reconsider his initial certitudes. Acerca de un estudio del movimiento pentecostal en ChileEl autor ¡°revisita¡± el camino que lo hab¨ªa llevado a desarrollar uno de los primeros estudios sobre el movimiento evang¨¦lico pentecostal en Am¨¦rica latina en los a os¡¯60. Recuerda primero los t¨¦rminos con los que hab¨ªa pretendido encuadrar la relaci¨®n con su objeto de investigaci¨®n, para describir luego el extra o v¨ªnculo sujeto/objeto que se hab¨ªa ido generando mientras progresaba en su inmersi¨®n dentro de una doble alteridad: Am¨¦rica latina y el movimiento carism¨¢tico. Durante este viaje a tierras lejanas, el ¡°objeto¡± empez¨® a tener vida, y poco a poco se le impuso como ¡°sujeto¡± al investigador, que se consideraba a s¨ª mismo como ¡°sujeto¡±, imponi¨¦ndole nuevos interrogantes y una revisi¨®n radical de sus certidumbres iniciales.
