%X En France, compte tenu de l¡¯expansion du corps professionnel des sociologues, de l¡¯accroissement du nombre de revues, de colloques et de publications, un diagnostic de l¡¯¨¦volution de la sociologie ne peut ¨ºtre que limit¨¦ et situ¨¦ institutionnellement. Cet article veut exprimer, au moment o¨´ le corps des sociologues est en train de se renouveler en profondeur et o¨´ le pilotage de la recherche publique s¡¯est dangereusement accentu¨¦, une   inqui¨¦tude   : celle de voir, d¡¯une part, se r¨¦tr¨¦cir l¡¯horizon d¡¯enqu¨ºte et la marge de man uvre des sociologues et, d¡¯autre part, s¡¯op¨¦rer une forme de normalisation de la discipline qui doit passer sous les fourches caudines de la r¨¦forme ¨¤ marche forc¨¦e du syst¨¨me de recherche fran ais. Pour ce faire, l¡¯article esquisse une sociologie des sociologues ¨¤ travers les transformations de leurs conditions d¡¯entr¨¦e dans le m¨¦tier et de leurs conditions de travail, notamment ¨¤ l¡¯universit¨¦. French Sociology on the FenceIn France, given the expansion of the professional body of sociologists, the increase in the number of journals, of conferences, and of publications, a diagnosis of the evolution of sociology can only be limited and institutionally located. While the body of sociologist is largely renewing itself and where the direction of public research has been dangerously highlighted, this article wants to express a concern: to see, on the one hand, the narrowing of investigation and of the room to maneuver of sociologists, and on the other hand, the normalization process of the discipline that has to go under the knife of the forced march of the reform of the French system of research. To do so, this article will sketch a sociology of sociologists through the transformation of their conditions of entry into the profession and of their working conditions, particularly in the university. La sociolog¨ªa francesa en medio de un vadoEn Francia, si tenemos en cuenta la extensi¨®n del cuerpo de soci¨®logos, de la aumentaci¨®n del n¨²mero de revistas, de coloquios y de publicaciones, un diagn¨®stico de la evoluci¨®n de la sociolog¨ªa solo puede ser limitado e institucional.
