%X This paper proposes a series of reflections on comparative literature and its relationship with cultural studies, with particular emphasis on literature¡¯s place in this relationship. It addresses the importance of interdisciplinarity and multiculturalism to re-evaluate the perspectives or tools used to address both literary analysis and cultural practices in general. It also reflects on socio-historical concern and commitment to achieve a productive approach. Via a general consideration of the aims of contextualising and the relationships and complementation between discourses, it provides a contrasting dialogue between different positions.
