%X Welcome to the Volume 2 Number 2 of the International Journal of Design, Analysis and Toolsfor Integrated Circuits and Systems (IJDATICS). This issue is comprised of extended versions ofstudent papers that were submitted to the XiĄŻan Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) studentworkshop, which was co-located with the 1st IEEE International Conference on NetworkedEmbedded Systems for Enterprise Applications (IEEE NESEAĄŻ10) that was held in Suzhou,Jiangsu Province, China in November 2010.We view the promotion of early-stage Ph.D. student research as a key part of the mission of theNESEA conference series. The inaugural NESEA student workshop provided a high qualityforum in which Ph.D. students could present their research to leading international academicswho were attending the main NESEA 2010 conference.
