Many factors"nalter amniotic fluid production and consumption, one"nof which is maternal vascular system and blood flow."nAs we know uterine artery impedance has progressive"nchanges during pregnancy. Resistive index (RI) and"npulsatility index (PI) are parameters for evaluation"nof vascular impedance. In this study correlation of"namniotic fluid index (as an index of amniotic fluid"nvolume) and impedance parameters is evaluated.Patients and Methods: Four quadrant amniotic fluid"nindex is measured in healthy pregnant women in their"nthird trimester of pregnancy. At the same time PI and"nRI of the uterine artery are measured at the placental"nsite."nResults: Final assessment of the data indicates no"nsignificant correlation between RI and PI of uterine"nartery with amniotic fluid index."nConclusion: There is no significant correlation"nbetween AFI and RI and PI of the uterine artery in"nspite of known implication of the vascular system in"nthe amniotic fluid volume. %K Keyword %U http://journals.tums.ac.ir/PdfMed.aspx?pdf_med=/upload_files/pdf/18990.pdf&manuscript_id=18990
