Kampania¡± Galileusza w wietle anarchizmu Feyerabenda oraz koncepcji dzia ania komunikacyjnego Habermasa %A Anna MICHALSKA %J Argument : Biannual Philosophical Journal %D 2012 %I Pedagogical University of Cracow %X In the article Galileo¡¯s campaign in favour of the Copernican system is examined in terms oftwo different frameworks: Paul¡¯s Feyerebend methodological anarchism and J¨¹rgen Habermas¡¯sformal pragmatics. It is argued that while Feyerabend has been essentially right in defending scientificpluralism, he has gone too far maintaining that Galileo¡¯s endeavour deserves the title ofpropaganda. Since, as is demonstrated in the course of the analysis, the account of the scientificmethod against which Feyerabend comes out does not exhaust the notion of reason, a widerconception of rationality is required so that the crucial episodes in the history of science canbe explained. Drawing on the Habermas¡¯s theory of discourse, the author of the article sets outto reinterpret Galileo¡¯s enterprise and portray it as a fine example of a versatile implementationof the principles of reason. %K scientific method %K methodological anarchism %K discourse %K propaganda %K rationality %U http://www.argumentwp.vipserv.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/pdfv2n2/10-argument_vol-2-2012_nr-2_Michalska.pdf
