%X This report covers developments in chromatography and related techniques in China during the period of 1998 1999 The papers published in 23 domestic and a few foreign periodicals which are closely related to chromatography, and presented at 1999 Beijing Conference and Exhibition on Instrumental Analysis and the 12th National Symposium of Chromatography are reviewed. Specific topic areas covered include gas chromatography (GC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), capillary electrophoresis (CE) and capillary electrochromatography (CEC), solid phase extraction (SPE) and solid phase microextraction\{(SPME).\}
