%X Photocatalytic process is an energy-saving and high efficiency technology in sewage disposal. The progress in the photocatalytic process over semiconductor materials are reviewed, based on the findings reported in literatures. The paper covers the current status of research on photocatalytic degradation, the mechanism of photocatalytic reaction, the advance of photocatalytic destruction of common organic pollutants, the approaches to improve activity of semiconductor and some problems existing in the progress of photocatalytic technology and so on.
