%X The advances in characteristics of EST derived SNPs in plants and development strategies were reviewed, and the preliminary results of developing EST-SNPs from Actinidia chinensis complex were introduced. The potential applications of EST-SNPs in kiwifruit population genetic studies were further discussed, and the development of EST-SNPs in other species was prospected.
