%X Knowledge economy is based on the production, distribution and application of knowledge, and modern distance learning is very important to link the production and the application of knowledge together for developing knowledge-based economy. This paper discusses the characterisitics and importance of modern distance learning in knowledge-based economy, presented the basic ways and policy/suggestions for developing China's distance learning.
