%X China’s PV solar energy industry has been rapidly developing,but there are some differences in the development of different provinces.This study examined the spatial structure of China’s PV industry from the perspective of province and region using data in 2009.Empirical results indicate that Beijing,Hebei and Qinghai are the agglomeration of PV power.The increment in 2009 reached 262 7000,269 000,60 600Wp,accounting for 85.7%,8.8%and 2.0%of the entire nation,respectively,and the cumulant in 2009 was 506 300,570 000,and 725 000Wp,accounting for 73.1%,8.2%and 10.5%of the total,respectively.Qinghai Province has a better foundation of PV power than Hebei Province though the increment of Hebei is greater.Gansu Province has a relatively large cumulant compared with increment,that is to say it has a better historical circumstance.From the perspective of region,North China was the main region of PV power where the increment in 2009 accounted for 81.56%of the nation,and the second was the northwest region with the proportion of 14.83%,but the PV power generation developed slowly due in large part to the weakness of the industry foundation in East China,Northeast China,Middle-South China and Southwest China.Furthermore,PV enterprises are mainly distributed in Guangdong, Zhejiang,Shanghai,Beijing,Jiangsu,and other eastern coastal areas,accounting for 16.6%,15.6%, 13.9%,12.6%and 12.2%of the total number,respectively.East China,Middle-South China,and North China became the three major regions where PV enterprises are distributed,with the ratios of 52.67%,20.67%and 17.85%respectively.Results of the Gini coefficient show that North China has a higher degree of concentration,with a Gini coefficient of around 0.7.Northeast China has the lowest Gini coefficient of 0.45.Efficiency of energy utilization,government policies,technology of the PV solar energy industry,electrical power,and energy consumption market are the key factors affecting the spatial structure of the industry,with positive correlations.Besides,export-oriented economy is the impulse for PV solar energy industry.However,the correlation between solar resource endowment and new energy appropriation is not significant because the reason of spatial spillover effects and spending data shortage.The formation of enterprise agglomeration can have a "spillover effect"which can change the industrial spatial structure,but in this study the cross section of data cannot measure the spillover benefits.Additionally,the lack of sales data and consumption data may also result in uncertainties.
