%X Limitations in geographical distribution, weak qualitative competitiveness, slowness in natural regeneration,indefinite biota changes and plunder type extensive management constitute the principal causes for the endangerment of Taxus L. in China. Countermeasures for sustainable utilization of the plants include the establishment of nature protected areas,species gene pool and economic forest zones.
