廖利平 %A 赵士洞 %J 资源科学 %D 1999 %I %X Chinese fir plantation constitutes one of the most important timber forests in China and plays an essential role in the national ec onomy.But nowadays it faces a number of serious problems such as soil fertility degradation and productivity decline.Ecosystem management serves as a new approa ch to sustainable management and utilization of Chinese fir plantations.In view of the specific definition and connotation of ecosystem management,along with th e practical problems confront ed,this paper points out that ecosystem management of Chinese fir plantations sh ould include the initial stage before the establishment of the stand,effects of other components on the entire functional sustainability of the ecosystem rather than merely the stand itself.The maintenance of soil fertility could be the key to functional sustainability of the whole ecosystem.Ecological monitoring progr ammes are proposed on dynamics of productivity of Chinese fir plantation ecosyst ems.Some practical approaches such as control of stand structure,manipulation of litter decomposition,and ecological management of the soils for the implementat ion of Chinese fir plantation ecosystem management are put forward. %K Chinese fir plantation %K Ecosystem management %K Soil %K fertility %K Litter decomposition %K Control of stand structure
