%X ourly-four species (including subspecies and varieties) of rare and endangered plants on the list of State protecting are distributed in Shaanxi Province. ofwhich one species belongs to first class of protection plants, 15 species to secondclass of protecting plants, and 28 species to third class of protecting plants. Theseplants are of high value to the exploitation and utilization in aspects of medicine, flowers, chemical industry, timber, etc. However, many rare and endangered plants are on the verge of extinction due to serious eec-environmental damage caused by impact of nature and human factors in recent years. Currently,the pressing issue is to energectically protect and rationally utilize these resources,
