%X Surfacing process was made on 45 steel substrate by shielded metal arc welding process using electrode CHR237, the microstructure of deposited metals was analyzed, and the hardness measurement of the deposited metals were measured. Fretting test of the substrate and substrate with different deposited metals were carried out. The results show that the fretting wear characteristic of the deposited metal was similar to that of the substrate. The size of fretting mark on the substrate was the largest. The size of wear mark decreased with increasement of deposited metal layer, and the wear-resistance of the deposited metals improved.
