%X Based on the thermal balance principle in heat transfer and theory of frictional melting of ice, a model was established for prediction of automobile traction on ice. It was shown that the model established had higher accuracy and was comparable with calculation.The effects of service conditions of automobile,the environmental conditions, and surface roughness on traction were analyzed.Some subjects for future investigation were proposed.
