%X CdS nanoparticles with prolonged sta- bility against photo-oxidation have been successfully synthesized in aqueous solution using 2-mercapto- succinic acid (MSA) as stabilizer at room temperature The growth progress of particles is found to be af- fected with changing Cd2 concentration. Whether the thiol group in MSA could be dissociated plays an important role on the effective passivation of CdS nanoparticles.
