%X The on_ramp control is an important method in freeway traffic control.But the effects of the current methods of on_ramp control are not satisfactory.The idea of fuzzy control method is promoted in on_ramp control problem.The fuzzy controller was designed based on the theory of on_ramp control and the design process of fuzzy control system.Five fuzzy variables including occupancy,speed and queue are taken as inputs,and triangle and trapezoid subjection degree functions are used according to actual condition.The rule base including 12 rules is established.Finally,the control system is simulated in MATLAB software.The result indicates that the fuzzy controller designed is effective to the on_ramp control.
