%X A brief overview on the evolution of neural network_based control and applications is given.The emphasis is put on some recent advances on stable adaptive control for continuous and discrete-time systems using neural networks and neuro-fuzzy models.Open problems and problem-solving approaches are discussed.As one of the problem-solving approaches for neuro-adaptive control,Type-2 fuzzy neural networks and quantum neural networks are also introduced.Finally,the further research direction and new subjects are proposed.
