The characteristics of an intelligent power network are analyzed and the importance of the information network security is emphasized. Various risks as well as malicious attack scenarios to the intelligent power network are analyzed from the aspect of information security, ranging from the information collection, transmission, management and interaction. Furthermore, the impact from the emergency in the information network on the survivability of an intelligent power system is discussed based on the basic features of the coupling between the two networks.
