%X A variable structure robust control algorithm with robust sliding mode function is presented for a class of uncertain linear systems with the absence of matching assumption in which the uncertainty is not acted within channels implicit in the control inputs. The robust control algorithm proposed in the paper with continuous performance guarantees that the resulting closed loop system can be globally practical stabilized. The practical application of the control strategy to the design of a stability augmentation system for ship fin control is also presented.
