刘珩 %A 王正欢 %A 李祥明 %A 安建平 %J 重庆邮电大学学报(自然科学版) %D 2012 %I %X To adapt to the characteristic of large delay in deep space communications, a non-feedback data transmission protocol based on fountain codes and parallel paths is presented. This protocol can avoid the repeated process of handshake between the sender and the recipient, thus shorten the data transmission time. Moreover, through the deployment of multiple relays between the sender and recipient, parallel paths can be established for the sake of continuous data transmission. Parallel paths can overcome the shortcoming of single path which is vulnerable to link outage and take full advantage of link resources. The simulation results demonstrate: if the coding overhead is slightly larger than the packet loss rate, the original data can be accurately recovered with high probability at the recipient. Increasing number of parallel paths can improve transmission capacity and decrease transmission delay. %K deep space communications %K fountain codes %K Raptor codes %K non-feedback %K parallel paths
