%X In this paper,we study the optimal production rate and the preventive maintenance rate for the two tandem machines system,in which the state transitions of machines were supposed to a Markov process,give the structure of the optimal control policy,offer a heuristic control policy based on the structure properties deduced,and prove the heuristic control policy being near optimal by a simulation.
