%X In order to reduce the effect of the accurate image segmentation on the content based image retrieval, a new image retrieval algorithm based on uniform region segmentation was proposed. At first, the image was segmented using uniform region,and then the histogram color feature and Uabor wavelet texture future were extracted. Finally,a reson- able similarity measure was designed to improve the retrieval efficiency. The experiments results show that the algo- rithm in this paper is more accurate than SIMPI_Icity system. The average retrieval performance is increased by 3. 6%. Better ave-rage precision ratio is obtained.
